A Story Where That Grows (生えちゃう話, Hae Chau Hanashi) is a special chapter of Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!. It was originally published in the Mihari-chan in the Laboratory doujinshi which was released on May 27, 2023 before being re-released as part of Onimai Side Reader: Mihari's Laboratory on August 13, 2023.
Summary[]
Mihari accidently consumes one of Chitose's experimental drugs, which Chitose says will cause Mihari to grow a certain something.
Plot[]
One day, Mihari is working in the University lab alongside Arika. She soon feels very groggy from a lack of sleep and notes that she's about to fall over. She asks Arika if there are any more energy drinks, and Arika joyfully says that there's tons more in the fridge. Mihari opens the fridge and notes that she'll just help herself. Taking a bottle, she quickly gulps down the contents. Once she is finished, she notes that that sure did the trick. She then notices that the bottle has once of Chitose's danger stickers on the outside and realizes that what she drank was certainly not an energy shot.
Chitose is shocked that Mihari drank that drug, pointing out that it was an unfinished product. Mihari tells Chitose not to put stuff like that in the fridge, noting that it can be classified as a school-inflicted incident.
Mihari asks what's going to happen to her, and Chitose bluntly tells Mihari that she's going to grow "one of those". Mihari is shocked, but Chitose says that it won't stay forever. She says that one good yank and it'll be gone, much to Mihari's shock. Chitose also says that if need be she can go right ahead and do it for Mihari, and if it grows in to not hestiate to tell her right away.
Mihari is left in a state of shock while Arika and Tsubasa get in front of Mihari. Arika calls Chitose the worst, while Tsubasa calls her abusive and a "four-eyes". Arika, in a loving manner, tells Mihari that it'll be okay and that she'll give her a nice, gentle yank. Tsubasa looks at Arika in shock while Mihari notes that that isn't okay at all.
The next day, Mihari walks up to Chitose's desk and calls out to her. Chitose realizes in delight that Mihari did grow "one" after all and notes that it is quite the large one.
It is revealed that Mihari grew a very large and curly moustache. Mihari is shocked that this is what Chitose meant by "grow one". Chitose laughs while Arika expresses disappointment at it not being what they all expected. Mihari hides Tsubasa after hearing this, and Arika clarifies that she was kidding.
Mihari tells Chitose to hurry up and yank it, and Chitose grabs some pliers telling Mihari to just sit still. Chitose begins to yank on the moustache causing Mihari to feel immense pain. Arika laughs while Tsubasa takes a picture with her phone, noting that this is quite the scandalous shot.
Later on, Mihari returns home wearing a surgical mask. Mahiro looks up from her game and asks Mihari if she caught a cold. Mihari tells Mahiro to go along with that.
