Mahiro and her friends begin their second semester of their second year of middle school.
Plot[]
On the first day of the new term, Asahi brightly says good morning to everyone. As Mahiro lies forward in her desk lazily, she notes to Asahi how energetic she always is. Asahi says that it's fun to be back at school after so long, which leads to Mahiro feeling blinded by Asahi's healthly attitude. Momiji then asks Asahi if she finished all her summer homework though, causing Asahi to start to panic. Momiji also adds how they also have new tests to start the new semester as well. Asahi loses all her energy and starts to droop, while Mahiro begs Momiiji not to pile on any more.
Meanwhile, Nemu is shown to be sitting upright and awake with a severe tan. Nodoka is left in shock asking Nemu what's wrong, while Mahiro looks at her from afar in confusion wondering how this could've happened.
Momiji notes how some people come back from summer break with an entirely different vibe. Mahiro agrees, notiing that a new term means a new you. Miyo adds that one summer can change you, with a summer trip or a summer love having great impact. Mahiro chuckles noting how kids grow up so fast, with Miyo laughing and saying how Mahiro sounds like an old man.
Momiji tells Mahiro to check out two people and Mahiro looks in the direction that she's pointing. It turns out that Yuta and Satsuki are smiling and having a conversation, with the misunderstanding between them having been mended over the break. Momiji asks if they seem to be hitting it off, and Mahiro is amazed wondering if they've started going out. Miyo becomes aroused at the spark of romance in the air, while Nayuta agrees with the assumption of them being a couple.
Mahiro, Momiji, and Miyo become shocked by Nayuta's new appearance, which consists of her wearing a bowler hat and a pair of sunglasses with star-shaped lenses. Mahiro is shocked at Nayuta having a new attitude as well, and Momiji asks her what happened in the week since the fireworks festival. After Nayuta makes a hand sign, she takes off the hat and sunglasses explaining that she just wanted to make a little second-semester joke. Asahi is overjoyed in relief, and Miyo notes to Nayuta that she is such a prankster.
Asahi takes the sunglasses and laughs at how weird they are, with Momiji wondering if they actually look good on anyone. Miyako yoinks they away saying that of course they do. Putting them on and posing, Miyako notes that they give off a tropical vacation vibe, Momiji is amazed and tells Miyako that they really do look good on her, while Miyako gives them back and asks them not to let the teacher see them.
As Mai and Miyako have a conversation from afar, Mahiro is amazed by how much the "Fashionable Girl Squad" knows about this stuff. Nayuta also notes that the two have a certain air about them. After seeing Asahi pose while wearing the glasses with Momiji laughing along with it, Nayuta decides that on the other hans she can learn how to act mature herself. Miyo is amazed at this resolve, while Mahiro is scared and doesn't like where this is going.
As Mai and Miyako keep chatting, Mai tells Miyako how her bracelets look super cute. Miyako confirms this, grinning and saying that her daddy bought them for her. Overhearing this, Mahiro and Miyo and shocked at the implied meaning of this, thinking that she's referring to a "sugar daddy." Mai notes that Miyako that she truly loves him. Miyako asks Mai how her "long awaited first time" was, and Mai says that it felt so good. With a dreamy expression on her face, Mai says that she could barely contain her moans, adding that it hurt just a bit though. Miyako is amazed by it, saying that she wants to try it too.
Mahiro and Miyo are truly shocked at these words, and Mahiro walks up to Mai and Miyako saying that they can't just say all that out in the open. Mai is confused and asks why not, saying that they were just talking about her spa trip. Mahiro is confused, and Mai explains that she went all out this summer even though she may have still been a bit young for it though. Miyako asks Mahiro what she thought they were talking about, and Mahiro blushes while trying to think of an answer. Meanwhile, Miyo sneaks away pretending that she wasn't thinking the exact same thing. Mai and Miyako figure it out quickly and jokingly call Mahiro such a perv, leading to Mahiro apologizing for the misunderstanding.
This comment about Mahiro being such a perv is overheard by Yuta and Minato who immediately turn their attention towards her. As they start to get dirty thoughts in their heads, Satsuki calls the two out again with her and Minori whacking them to the ground. Miyo blushes at the thought of being a perv herself, as she was thinking the same thing. Nayuta notes that these mature conversations are hard to follow.
When school lets out for the day, Mahiro, Momiji, Asahi, Miyo, and Nayuta decide to hang out together. As they walk outside, Mahiro sighs in relief, glad that they started the semester with a half day. Momiji asks if they wanna stop somewhere on the way home, and Miyo suggests grabbing parfaits near the cafe at the station.
As they exit out of the school's northern entrance, they notice Miyako waiting near a sign. Mahiro is the first to see her, while Momiji wonders if she's waiting some someone. Eventually, a man in a suit and tie comes past who waves to Miyako. Miyako in her hold onto the man's left arm in a loving manner. Mahiro and Miyo are left in shock and note that Miyako really does have a sugar daddy.
Miyako soon sees them and calls out to them, much to their embarassment. As Mahiro panics while thinking of something to say, Miyako introduces her daddy to everyone. The man is happy to see apparent friends of Miyako's and thanks them for being so nice to his daughter. Mahiro is shocked that Miyako was referring to her father when she said "daddy". Miyako hugs her father's left arm, saying that her daddy got off work early today, so they're going shopping together. As the two walk away, Miyako offers to make dinner tonight and asks her father if there's anything special that he wants. He agrees and tries to think of something.
Momiji notes how it's nice how the two are so close. Miyo feels heartwarmed saying that Miyako is a "daddy's girl" for sure. Mahiro feels bad about this being another misunderstanding. Momiji then mentions how she remembers Miyako mentioning once how she lived with her dad. Mahiro feels even worse, reflecting on her actions upon realizing that Miyako really is a good good girl after all.
The next day, Mahiro apologizes to Miyako for what she thought, and Miyako forgives her immediately saying that it's no big deal.
Meanwhile, Nemu has finally started to sleep in class once again, much to Nodoka's relief.
