Summary[]
Mihari's friend from middle school Kaede Hozuki comes over for a visit and starts to bond with Mahiro.
Plot[]
Mahiro races down the hallway needing to pee. She opens the bathroom door only to find an unfamiliar girl sitting on the toilet. The two awkwardly stare at each other for a few seconds before Mahiro closes the door in confusion. The girl, now on her feet, then opens the door abruptly and calls Mahiro a "little sneak", causing Mahiro to jump a bit.
Mihari is then alerted to the noise and catches the girl hugging the disorientated Mahiro from behind while smiling. Mihari asks what is going on.
In Mihari's bedroom, she tells Mahiro that this stranger is her friend from middle school. The friend, who is still holding Mahiro from behind introduces herself as Kaede and says that it is nice to meet her [Mahiro]. Mahiro is frightened at being trapped by a high-schooler, and that she figured that Mihari might know some real characters, but never expected a "gal". Mahiro decides that she can't handle this due to being a loner, and fears what might happen if Kaede finds out who she really is. Mahiro imagines Kaede calling her a peeper, molester, cross-dressing pervert, and freeloader, and decides that she has to has to get away.
Kaede asks Mihari since when does she have a younger sister, causing Mahiro to gulp. Mihari brushes off the question by just saying that "things happen". Kaede asks Mahiro for her name and Mahiro gives it to her awkwardly, but Mihari tells Mahiro not to be shy. Seeing an opportunity, Mihari claims to have to finish the last bit of a paper that she is working on and asks Kaede if she can watch Mahiro in the meantime, much to Mahiro's shock.
Kaede cheerfully says that that is a true college student, and agrees pushing Mahiro to the living room. Mahiro is confused, but is left helpless as Mihari waves her off.
The the living room, the two girls are left in complete silence. Mahiro curses at Mihari for getting her into this and wonders what she is supposed to say to a high school girl. Kaede breaks the silence by asking Mahiro what she likes to do. Mahiro tells her that she reads manga and plays video games. Kaede remarks that she loves video games and shows Mahiro a mobile puzzle game she plays. She expects that Mahiro also plays it, hoping to add Mahiro as a friend on it. Mahiro says that she doesn't play the game, but Kaede isn't bothered at all by that, much to Mahiro's surprise.
Mahiro's stomach grumbles. Kaede hears it and remembers that it is almost lunchtime. She suggest that she fixes them up a little something, leaving Mahiro surprised. In the kitchen, Kaede says that she is going to use whatever they have left over. Mahiro asks her if she's really going to cook, and Kaede says that she might not look it but she's the domestic type deep down. She explains that she has a younger sister, so she's always cooking for her. She tells Mahiro to hold on as she'll be done in a jiffy, leaving Mahiro confused further.
Kaede serves the food she made, and tells Mahiro that she also made enough for Mihari so she'll need to take it to her later. Mahiro isn't completely sure about the food, but falls in love with it after a single bite. She is further surprised when Kaede starts cleaning the dishes like a good girl. Mahiro smiles and decides that this is kind of nice.
Soon after, the two girls sit on the couch again with full bellies and smiles on their faces. Kaede remarks that it turned out really good. Mahiro thinks to herself that she didn't expect to get along with Kaede, but it turns out that she is a very nice person and she feels comfortable with her. She realizes that there is more to a "gal" than the stereotype, as Mahiro always pegged them as being shallow and skeevy. Mahiro snaps out of her stupor when she sees Kaede staring at her.
Kaede tells Mahiro that she assumes that Mahiro has never done "it" before, which leaves Mahiro surprised. Kaede further mentions that her sister isn't the type to do "it", which leaves Mahiro to wonder what she is. Kaede says that she should show Mahiro the ropes instead, which leaves Mahiro shocked. Mahiro takes back everything she though about Kaede, deciding that she's rotten to the core, believing that "it" means kissing.
Mahiro asks if she's really sure that she should, and Kaede says that she understands that it is intimidating at first, but says that there's nothing to be embarrassed about. Mahiro backs away slowly remarking that she is still too young for that, but Kaede insists that the sooner Mahiro starts, the sooner that she'll get used to it. Kaede remarks that they might as well get it over with, and to leave everything to her.
She tells Mahiro to close her eyes, and Mahiro does so. Mahiro thinks to herself that she is finished, and Kaede says that she'll be gentle. Mahiro in the meantime thinks that she is going to lose her mind.
Kaede remarks that she is all done, and Mahiro open her eyes to see Kaede smiling and holding several makeup utensils. Kaede holds up a small mirror and tells Mahiro to look in it, saying that she's super cute. Mahiro sees that Kaede put makeup on her and styled her hair. Mahiro cringes over having been so stupid, while Mihari, who walked in halfway through apolohizes for not being the type that wears maekup.
Mihari then holds up a picture of Kaede when she was in middle school and points out that Kaede once looked completely different, with a much less cute hairstyle. Kaede panics at seeing it and begs Mihari to delete it.
Kaede remarks that this trip was fun, but that she has to get home. She says goodbye to Mahiro, who waves back while Mihari smiles at her.
Mihari remarks that Kaede is a nice girl, and that she was thinking that she could be good socialization practice for Mahiro. Mahiro brushes off her comments, but inside smiles and agrees with the statement about Kaede being nice. She knows that she doesn't "like" her, but she's sort of like an older sister. Mahiro comments to Mihari that she [Mihari] could learn a lot from Kaede, a statement that Mihari is flabbergasted at hearing from Mahiro.
It is also revealed that at some point, Kaede tried to see Mahiro's bedroom, but Mahiro refused to let her go in.
