Mahiro Helps Out (まひろとお手伝い, Mahiro To Otetsudai) is Chapter 10.5 of Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister. It was originally published exclusively in Tankōbon Volume 1 which was released on June 27, 2018 in Japan, and August 31, 2021 in North America.
Summary[]
To thank Mahiro for helping her out the other day, Mihari gives her a chore card with a promise of an increased allowance if the entire card is filled out.
Plot[]
Mihari tells Mahiro that she has something to thank her for helping out while she was sick. Mahiro is excited and believe that it is another game currency card, but Mihari instead gives Mahiro a chore helper card.
Mahiro gets upset, asking Mihari if she looks like a grade-schooler to her. Mihari just tells Mahiro that if she fills out the entire card, she'll increase Mahiro's allowance. Mahiro is shocked, but goes along with it for the sake of more allowance.
Sometime later, Mahiro has cleaned the bathroom and Mihari thanks her by putting another sticker on the card. Mihari notices that Mahiro has filled out the entire card and gives her the reward as promised. The increase turns out to be an measely 300¥.
Upset, Mahiro wraps herself in a blanket and goes on strike for higher wages, declaring that it is is what you lose when your work cannot be repaid. Mihari realizes that maybe this was a bad move.
