Mahiro Starts Over (まひろとニューゲーム, Mahiro To Nyū Gēmu) is Chapter 8 of Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister. It was originally published on Pixiv on September 30, 2017.
Summary[]
A box falls on Mahiro's head, causing her to lose her memory and revert her personality to that of a young girl.
Plot[]
Mahiro is playing video games, but decides that she is tired of online games. She decides that maybe it's time she tried reading some of her classic manga for a change. Unfortunately, they are on the top shelf and Mahiro is too small now to reach them. To get to them, she climbs on her bookcase, but accidently disturbs a box above it which falls down and hits her on the head.
Mahiro is knocked out by the impact and lies on the floor for awhile before waking up. She is slightly in pain from the bump she now has on her head. Gaining a sense of her surroundings, Mahiro realizes that she doesn't know where she is and is surprised to see her reflection (being surprised that she is a girl). She realizes that she has amnesia and accepts that she is indeed a girl, especially after fidgeting her private area to confirm it.
She notes that the room she is in must be her bedroom, but notes that it doesn't look like a girl's room. She notices that there is lots of manga and opens one volume up to read. She becomes horrified when she sees that it is an 18+ story about a girl kidnapped and sold into sex slavery. She is scared out her mind and starts to wonder if that's what happened to her.
She hears someone else's footsteps approaching the room that she's in and gets more scared. The door opens, revealing that its Mihari. Mahiro, not knowing who she is, wraps herself in a blanket and yells that she doesn't want to be a slave.
Mihari is completely surprised by that statement. Mahiro starts crying saying that she wants to go home, and Mihari starts to wonder what happened. She notices the box which now has a large rounded ding in it, and realizes that Mahiro suffered a concussion when the box hit her head. She remarks that with it, Mahiro will likely be disoriented for an hour or two. Mahiro continues crying, and Mihari notes that Mahiro seems to have reverted to a younger personality.
Mahiro asks if Mihari is a doctor, to which Mihari says that she is not exactly one. Mahiro stops crying but is still scared, and Mihari becomes overwhelmed at how cute Mahiro is like this. She thinks to herself that this is her chance to raise her right, but forces herself to forget that idea, even though it would be so easy.
Mihari calls Mahiro by her name and, while chuckling at her fantasies, tells her that it is getting late and asks if she is tired. Mihari offers to keep an eye on Mahiro tonight, telling her not to worry as she'll be right there with her. Mahiro says okay to that. Mihari checks to confirm where the bump is, and helps Mahiro into her bed telling her to relax. She eventually reads Mahiro a bedtime story so she'll fall asleep, and smiles tremendously when Mahiro finally does.
A few hours later, Mahiro has to pee and wakes up to use the bathroom, still disoriented. She notices the shelves packed with wierdo fetish manga and becomes frightened by them once again.
Mihari, now in her room, reflects on her actions and sighs. She notes that she got a little carried away and that she shouldn't make light of a serious situation. She knows that she'd lose everything if anything happened to Mahiro, and decides that they'll go to the hospital tomorrow.
A knock is heard at the door. When Mihari opens it, she sees Mahiro there with tears in her eyes holding a pillow. Mahiro asks if she can sleep with Mihari tonight, and Mihari smiles and immediately agrees, making room in her bed for Mahiro.
The next morning, Mahiro wakes up, her memories and personality having returned to normal, and becomes shocked that she is in bed with Mihari who has her arm around her. Mihari wakes and greets Mahiro, who tried to free herself. When she succeeds, she asks Mihari what she is doing, and Mihari asks her if she remembers what happened. Mahiro appears to have some weird recollection, but denies remembering and claims that she doesn't want to either, slamming the door shut. Mihari notes that she is glad Mahiro is okay, but is also a bit disappointed that she couldn't continue living out her fantasy.
Mahiro shudders in the hallway, noting that she is becoming her little sister's little sister even deep down inside. She then notes that she felt really secure last night, and decides that Mihari can be just as kind as Kaede when she wants to be. Mahiro then snaps out of it and decides that she can't forget herself and decides to read another sex slave book to remember. Though when she attempts to, she freaks out, still being unconsciously traumatized by it.
The two ultimately go to a doctor anyway just to be safe. Mihari asks Mahiro if her head is okay, to which Mahiro says that it is no thanks to her.
