Plot[]
Mahiro slumps over on the kotatsu all gloomy. She remarks that winter break is over, and believe that it is the end for her. Mihari comes in and asks Mahiro if she's going to mope around forever. She says that she knew that bringing the kotatsu back out was a bad idea, leading Mahiro to call her a fiend and a demon. Mihari suggest that Mahiro instead use the scarf she gave him, and Mahiro remembers how she got it for Christmas. Mihari puts in on Mahiro, saying that she got it for her as a gift and that she should use it. Mahiro reluctantly agrees, guessing that she has to and decides to head out.
As Mahiro walks to school, she notes how cold it is. She thinks to herself how it is weird that the girl's uniform still has a skirt in the winter, as even with tights they're not exactly the warmest option. She thinks how it is a problem you can only really understand after you've experienced it.
She soon runs into Kaede and Momiji who say hi to her. Mahiro is shocked to see that Kaede, who's uniform has an even shorter skirt on it, has her legs completely bare. Mahiro asks her if she's freezing. Kaede figures out that Mahiro is asking her this because of her bare legs and cheerfully says that she is, much to Mahiro's surprise. Kaede further explains that beauty requires suffering, and that bare legs are a high school girl's greatest weapon. Mahiro understands, and thinks to herself that girls are truly the most formidable, for which she's very thankful.
In sharp contrast, Momiji says that she could never do something like that, adding that just seeing it makes her teeth chatter. She also says that it's so cold that she had to put her hair down. She notices that Mahiro's hair is nice and long and guess that it's warm as a result, though Mahiro admits that she had never thought of that.
Kaede notices that Mahiro is wearing the scarf that she and Mihari got her, explaining that they picked it out together. Mahiro understands that this is why she and Momiji have matching scarves and the two smile at each other. Momiji laughs at it being a little embarrassing, leading to Kaede hugging the two of them and pointing out that they are best buds and wondering that problem is. Mahiro just ends up laughing as well, but realizes that this could ultimately suggest something else as well.
At school, Mahiro and Momiji explain their matching scarves, and Miyo gets all excited about it, having understood the deeper suggestion of them being a couple due to matching clothes. Mahiro thinks to herself that it is something along those lines. Asahi doesn't grasp the meaning and says that she wants a matching one as well. Miyo tries to explain that it is only good because it's only the two of them that match, but Asahi still doesn't get it. Momiji instead points out to Asahi that she wouldn't even wear a scarf anyway, and Asahi agrees.
Mahiro points out that Asahi usually has bare legs in her casual clothes as well, and Asahi says that it is because she is always warm. Asahi pulls up her skirt saying that she's not wearing anything underneath it today, with Momiji realizing that it really is Asahi phrasing (Asahi is implying that she's naked beneath her skirt even though she's not and that wasn't her intention). Mahiro notes that Asahi is a ball of energy and lifts up her own skirt to show off that she is wearing super warm fleece leggings under it.
Yuta and Minato catch Mahiro doing this, and she realizes in horror that she just gave them a free peep show and pulls her skirt down in embarrassment, squealing as she does so. Satsuki and Minori cover Mahiro telling the two that there is nothing to see, calling them the worst. Yuta and Minato insist that they weren't even looking.
Momiji calls out Mahiro for always being so careless about that, but Mahiro doesn't answer that. Momiji asks what's wrong while Mahiro wonders why she made such a weird noise. She starts to wonder if this is feminine modesty, and decides that this is not good. She realizes that she has been corrupted and decides that she has to keep a hold on her masculinity. She once again returns to the topic of bare legs, saying that they are the best since the girl who bares her legs in winter is such a treat for the eyes. Momiji and Asahi are completely confused by that remark, with Momiji asking Mahiro if she's feeling okay.
Miyo tells Mahiro that she's wrong at that bare legs are not the way, confusing Mahiro. Miyo explains that the cold is not very good for your health, which Mahiro concedes is true. Miyo also says that in order to keep your legs warm in such cold weather, your body will deposit extra fat on them for insulation, which leads to your legs getting pudgy, something that Momiji agrees with. Asahi understands this, and comes to the conclusion that Miyo must go around topless all the time (due to her large bust fitting the description of fatter if exposed). Miyo denies this, but unfortunately, Asahi said it very loud and so everyone in class is staring at her thinking it. Miyo starts turning red, insisting that she doesn't and won't do it either, starting to cry. Mahiro tells her to calm down, but wonders if there's any truth to the statement as well.
Later that night, Mahiro gets out her hentai manga to read again as part of her plan to reassert her masculinity. Mahiro notes that boobs really are the best, and decides that she'll recover her masculinity by thinking about boobs. She then realizes that she kind of wishes that she had big ones like Miyo, and squishes her small ones noting that if she did she could jiggle them whenever she wanted. She then remembers what Miyo said about one's body depositing fat for insulation in cold weather, and gets an idea.
The next morning, Mihari barges into Mahiro's room telling her to wake up. She tells her that she can't just sleep in as it's not winter break anymore. Mid sentence, she realizes that the room is freezing and notices that Mahiro was up all night with the window open. She was trying to gain bigger boobs by exposing them to the cold and hoping her body would depoit extra fat on them.
Mahiro collapses in bed, now having gotten sick from this experiment. Mihari asks Mahiro if she was trying to catch a cold so she could skip school, and Mahiro tells her to just go with that.
Meanwhile, Momiji thinks if she can go topless that she might grow larger breasts like Kaede. Kaede is confused by Momiji staring at her while she think that.
