Mahiro and the Amateur Model (まひろと読者モデル, Mahiro To Dokusha Moderu) is Chapter 71.5 of Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!. It was originally published in Doujinshi Volume 24 which was released on February 19, 2023.

Mahiro and her friends learn that Kaede appeared as a model in a fashion magazine.
Plot[]
One day at school, Momiji eagerly tells her friends to look at a fashion magazine. On a certain page is a photo of Kaede. Mahiro is surprised to see her in such a place while Miyo notes how pretty she looks. Miyo asks how it happened, and Momiji explains that Kaede was hired as an amateur model.
Asahi notes how cool Kaede is. Momiji thinks that Asahi is talking about her and makes an incredibly smug pose until Asahi clarifies who it was that she was referring to.
Miyo notes that Kaede is going to be famous, with Momiji saying that they'd better see her now while they still can. Asahi is shocked by this statement and says that they'd better go straight to her house after school. The others agree with her.
Once school lets out, the group of five make their way over to the Hozuki Residence to see Kaede, who is surprised that they are all there. Miyo congratulates Kaede, while Asahi asks if she can sign the copy of the magazine for her. Kaede is shocked by all of this and asks what's going on.
Once the situation is explained, Kaede giggles over this, as it was quite the fuss over nothing. She explains that her friend signed her up for this on her own, and since she happened to be accepted she thought that she'd try it out for the fun of it. Momiji is shocked and asks Kaede if she's really not going to do it anymore, seeing that as a waste. Kaede admits that she's not sure of that yet. Mahiro says that its still great that she got in one. Miyo agrees, saying that it's very admirable that she was accepted.
Momiji tries to pretend like she doesn't care that much, but Kaede notices this and says that she should apply since she's interested, as there are magazines for junior high girls as well. Momiji becomes flustered and stutters out that that wasn't what she meant. Mahiro asks Momiji why she wouldn't, as she's plenty handsome, something that Miyo backs up. Momiji insists that she could never do that, and says that if anyone should do it it's Mahiro. Mahiro is surprised by this, while Miyo notes the truth of this statement. Kaede takes out her phone and says that there is nothing to lose by trying, with Asahi saying that they should take some pics and send them off. Momiji begins to push Mahiro into position, while Mahiro begins to panic. She cries out to Nayuta to save her, but Nayuta notes that being a model sounds so mature. Mahiro laments losing her one support line as the camera begins to flash.
Several days later, Mahiro is fidgeting in her room when Mihari comes in and announces that they got the results back. Mahiro notes that even if she's getting in, she's just going to turn it down. Mihari giggles noting that she's nervous to see it as well.
Flipping open the letter, it reads that after diligent review of her submission they won't be moving forward with her. Mahiro looks away and pouts. Mihari begins to rub Mahiro's hair and says that she wins some and loses some, and that there's no reason to be upset. Mahiro angrily tells her to just be quiet.
Mihari tries to say that sometimes the market is just not right for certain things and suggests that it may happen once Mahiro grows a bit taller. Mahiro tells Mihari that there's no need for her to comfort her.
