Minato-kun is Done For? (みなとくんはおしまい？, Minato-kun Wa Oshimai) is a special chapter of Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister! and Chapter 1 of the Minato-kun is Done For? subseries. A special preview of the chapter was released on Nekotofu's Fanbox on November 10, 2023, with the full version being released exclusively in the spin-off doujinshi of the same name on January 1, 2024.
Summary[]
Minato is coerced by his older sister Kanata into filling in for her at an IRL meetup for members of an online guild in an MMO that she plays.
Plot[]
One day on a weekend, Minato is in his room lying in bed playing a handheld game. All of a sudden, his older sister Kanata comes into his roomn and says hi to him. Minato is shocked that Kanata is walking around in her underwear, again, but Kanata claims that it's fine as they're at home after all. As Kanata sits on the edge of his bed, Minato scoots away a bit and tells her to knock before coming in before asking what she wants. Kanata says that there's something that she wants to talk about, but then says in a sinister way that first they need to get Minato changed, much to Minato's surprise.
Kanata proceeds to dress Minato as a girl with a dark sailor dress and the wig he previously wore for the maid cafe at the cultural festival, much to his surprise. He asks what the hell this is, but Kanata just beams and says that it's perfect. She explains that she's got an IRL meetup today for an MMO that she plays. She adds that she promised that she'd join but notes that it's kind of a hassle. Minato calls her the worse, but Kanata says that it'd be scary if some weirdo shows up, and Minato agrees. Kanata tells Minato that he's going to sub in for her at the meetup. Minato is shocked saying that he can't, but Kanata tells him to take it easy. Pushing Minato to a mirror, Kanata points out that they're basically twins, which Minato doesn't know how to feel about. Kanata further explains that they're all meeting each other for the first time, and adds that Minato's voice is also high pitched. Kanata says enthusiatically that Minato is adorable and the ultimate cutie pie. Minato is overwhelmed by this, failing to form response before ultimately accepting his fate.
At the nearby Star Cafe, Minato sits at a booth with the other guild members, having caved in to Kanata's demands. A middle aged man suggests that they begin and introduces himself as Ponta, the guildmaster, while apologizing for being an old man. A girl with dark hair introduces herself as Shiori, and says that she's a university student. Remembering that Kanata said that her IGN is "Kanatan", Minato introduces himself as such while using the pronoun "boku". This is noticed by a male member of the guild named Lucas who is suprised to hear that "Kanatan" is a "boku" girl, leading Minato to panic for messing up. Lucas is then pushed away by another female named Risachii who tells him that he's too close, all the while scooting close to Minato and making him panic.
Shiori asks Ponta if everyone is here now, and he says that they're still missing someone. The mystery person soon arrives and apologizes for being late. Minato is shocked to see that it's Yuta and panics. Yuta on the other hand is a bit embarassed due to being called out by Risachii and Lucas for being a middle school student. Minato notes that it's over and quickly turns away, much to Yuta's confusion.
Ponta suggests that they all chat for a bit and the other guild members proceed to do so whiule enjoying some coffee and slices of cake.
Risachii is amazed that "Kanatan" really was a girl. Minato is confused and Risachii explains that she thought "Kanatan" was a boy due to her being so rough around the edges, with Shiori thinking the same thing. Minato thinks to themselves how they aren't wrong, as Kanata really is very agressive. Risachii notices Minato in thought and asks him what's wrong, calling him "Keyboard Warrior", leading Minato to panic. Minato's reaction makes Risachii appear to have cat ears and she admits that she loves the gap moe.
All the while, Yuta stares at the two with a serious expression. Lucas then whispers over to Yuta asking him which of the girls here is his type, much to his shock. Lucas says that he'll have a chance at one as soon as that girl leaves her seat. Ponta hears this and reminds them that this isn't a mixer.
Risachii continues to talk enthusiatically to Minato, talking about a rare drop in the game. Minato soon becomes overwhelmed and stands up saying that he needs to use the bathroom, much to Risachii's surprise. As Minato holds his hands between his legs, he notes that he's at his limit, as the lack of a reaction from Minato is freaking him out. Arrving at the restroom, he starts to wonder which one he should use, especially as it's unclear if him using the woman's bathroom is a crime.
At that moment, Yuta approaches Minato from behind and calls Minato by his real name. Minato begins to freak out wondeirng if his cover has been blown, only for Yuta to continue by sayingh that he thinks that Minato is really his older sister Kanata. Yuta tells "Kanata" that he's a friend of Minato's and that he's seen "her" around when he comes over to hang out. He adds that he never thought that they'd be guildmates, and Minato relaxes a bit as his cover wasn't blown. Leaning fully into his role, "Kanata" "recognizes" Yuta and thanks him for always being there for Minato, but explains that today's supposed to be a big get together. Yuta realizes that "Kanata" is right, while "Kanata" tells him to save the small talk for next time. Yuta is overwhelemd by "Kanata's" cuteness and agrees. "Kanata" asks if "she" can use the bathroom, and Yuta races over to the men's room himself while apologizing.
Minato locks the door and sits on the toilet in the ladies room noting that he's saved, all the while noting that he ended up in the woman's bathroom.
As soon as everyone's done eating, Risachii says that it's time for the after-party and asks those who want to do karaoke to raise their hands. Lucas and Shiori raise their hands with her, and Minato realizes that there's no turning back. As they walk into a karaoke bar, he accepts that he may as well commit to being his older sister. To do this, he decides to give some idol songs a shot during karaoke. He does such a great job that Yuta beams, while Lucas even offers to sing backup. When the song ends, Risachii tells "Kanatan" that it was great and that "she" sure is cute. Minato laugh nervously while admitting that this might be kind of fun. As this happens, Shiori looks over "Kanatan" and gets a strange feeling.
As they all finish, Lucas says that that really got his blood pumping. Yuta says that IRL meetups are great, while Minato breaths a sigh of relief noting that he somehow survived. Ponta tells everyone to be careful on the way home, while Risachii cries and suggests that they definetly meet up again. Minato waves goodbye to Yuta, Lucas, and Risachii while noting that he'll avoid using the same route as Yuta.
As he begins the trek home, he notices Shiori following him and asks her if she's heading this way as well, which she says yes to. As they continue walking without speaking, Minato notes that this is very awkward. Shiori then asks "Kanatan" out of the blue to confirm that "she's" a boy, much to Minato's shock. Minato tries to ask how she knows, and Shiori says that things like Minato's physique gave it away as she happens to know a lot about this stuff.
Shiori suddenly grabs Minato's hand causing Minato to shriek and aplogize. Instead of getting angry, Shiori becomes aroused and says that she thinks that it's great, much to Minato's confusion. She tells Minato that if anything is bothering him he can feel free to talk to her anytime and that she's here for him. Minato doesn't know how to respond to that, merely agreeing with a broken "yes".
The next day at school, Minato lies at his desk feeling exhausted and declares that he's never subbing in for Kanata again. He does note though that it's a bit sad saying goodbye, imagining how Shiori and Risachii said goodbye to him.
All of a sudden, Yuta says hi to Minato, causing Minato to jump up in shock and say good morning back. Yuta then tells Minato that his sister is pretty cute, leaving Minato in shock. Minato tries to ask how he could feel that way and tries to deny it, but Yuta just brushes it off and tells Minato to make sure that he introduces him to Kanata next time. Yuta walks away despite Minato's protests, with Minato noting that the person that Yuta was calling cute was actually him. Minato starts to blush a bit, then starts to get confused over what he's feeling, having undergone a slight awakening as the result of his endeavors.
