Minato Senkawa (千川 (せんかわ) みなと, Senkawa Minato) is a middle school student at Yotsuba University Affiliated Junior High School, a classmate of Mahiro Oyama, and the best friend of Yuta Sakurada. He is voiced by Rika Abe in the anime series.

Personality

Minato is a middle-school aged boy who loves playing video games, just like his best friend Yuta. Both boys are also in love with Mahiro Oyama who shares their interest, though neither is aware of her true identity. The two have a longstanding desire to go out with Mahiro, and there appears to be an unspoken agreement between the two that they would each be happy with the other if one of them gets to date her.

For a long time, there was not much in the way to differentiate the two in terms of personality. However, it has been shown that Minato has a repressed feminine side as he actually didn't want to stop being a maid when the cultural festival was over and uses female avatars in the games he plays.

Early Life

During grade school, Minato was in the same class as Momiji Hozuki, Asahi Ōka, Nemu Fujimi, Nodoka Fushimi, Aoi Tachikawa, Akira Nakai, and Yuta Sakurada. At some point later, he and Yuta played a game of soccer with Momiji and Asahi where Yuta acted as his team's goalie. Asahi scored the winning kick despite Yuta's best attempts to stop it. Despite this, he and Yuta didn't let losing get them down.

Eventually, Minato got into Yotsuba University Affliliated Junior High School ending up in Class 1-B.

Etymology

• The name Minato means "harbor" (港) (minato).
• The name Senkawa means "thousand" (千) (sen) and "river" (川) (kawa).
