Minori Shiina (椎名 (しいな) みのり, Shiina Minori) is a middle school student at Yotsuba University Affiliated Junior High School, a classmate of Mahiro Oyama, and the best friend of Satsuki Takada. She and Satsuki are always seen standing in the way of boys when said boys gang up on Mahiro and the other girls in class. She is voiced by Misaki Watada in the anime series.

Personality

Minori is described as more of a follower who doesn't really think for herself. This is shown by the fact that she tends to speak second and always reiterates what Satsuki says whenever the two gang up on the boys of their class.

Inside however, Minori does this because she secretly has a crush on Minato. After the summer of their second year in middle school, Minori is shown to be on much friendlier terms with Minato, though it is unclear if they are currently dating.

Minori has also shown an independent side, as she was the one who suggested the maid cafe as Class 2-B's event for the cultural festival. According to her, she suggested it because she had always wanted to dress up like a maid. She was the one who also suggested that everyone, including the boys of the class, be dressed like maids for the event.

Etymology

• The name Minori means "abundant" (穣) (minori).
• The name Shiina means "vertebrae" (椎) (shii) and "given name" (名) (na).
