Mr. Oyama (緒山 (おやま) , Oyama) is the husband of Matsuri Oyama, and the father of Mahiro and Mihari Oyama. Although he lived with his family when Mahiro and Mihari were in elementary school, his current status is unknown.

Appearance

Mr. Oyama has short black hair that appears to be the same color as Mihari's, with two small strands sticking up in the back.

Early Life

Twenty years before the start of the series, Matsuri Oyama gave birth to her first child, a boy that she and her husband named Mahiro. Three years later she gave birth to a second child, a girl that they named Mihari.

Mr. Oyama was present in his children's lives at least until the time that they were in elementary school. In one instance, he sat around the dinner table with his wife and kids when Matsuri made a hot pot, and saw how Mihari struggled to eat the carrots found within.

At some point after this, he moved out of the house for unknown reasons. He has not been brought up since by Mahiro, Mihari, or Matsuri, and his status is currently unknown.

Etymology

• The name Oyama means "string" (緒) (o) and "mountain" (山) (yama) when literally interpreted. According to the author Nekotofu, the name comes from oyama, a term in kabuki that refers to male actors who play female roles.
