Summary[]
Nekotofu showcases a behind the scenes story of what happened during the recording of the series first drama CD.
Plot[]
On a certain day in Toyko, Nekotofu (represented as a giant anthropomorphic cat) meets several people in a recording studio.
He tells them that it's nice to meet them, and notices that they are the voice actresses who have been hired to do the voices for the upcoming Drama CD. Marika Kōno as Mahiro Oyama, Kaori Ishihara as Mihari Oyama, and Hisako Kanemoto as Kaede Hozuki (All the actresses appear as the characters they will be voicing).
Nekotofu gets nervous meeting up with Kōno, admitting that he's a big fan of hers and watches her all the time. She immediately thanks him for being such a fan. Nekotofu explains in a caption that popular voice actors have been welcomed to the Drama CD production, though he notes that they recorded their lines separately.
After seeing this, Nekotofu is in heaven, wondering if it's a good idea to have such a luxury, even though it's a doujin work. He thanks them for taking the time to do this.
As the sound supervisor begins a mic check, Nekotofu's friend Producer P asks him if it's the first time he's done this. Nekotofu struggles to get an answer out, much to the confusion of an industry person sitting next to him, who he also classified as a friend.
Inside the booth, Ishihara is planning to record her lines as Mihari, and the sound supervisor suggest that they start with a test, which she agrees to. Hearing Ishihara say the line "Good morning, Onii-chan!!" almost causes Nekotofu to faint in ecstasy, as the voice perfectly embodies what he imagined Mihari would sound like. He feels immediate gratitude towards her for being able to bring the character to life.
While Kanemoto is recording as Kaede, she says the line "It's Mahiro-chan". The sound supervisor adjusts some dials and asks Nekotofu how this take sounds with them. Nekotofu tells her to say it again, this time a bit more gyaru-like if she can. He notes that with the sound director consulting direction at any time, the voice actor's have amazing adaptability.
While Kōno is recording as Mahiro, the line "My Nipple Hurt..." bothers Nekotofu, and he asks Kōno to say it again, causing the sound directors to give him a weird glance. Nekotofu insists that it's a big deal, calling it an important punchline, and is surprised himself by how much he's obsessed with it. The sound director concedes and asks Kōno to do another take with a different tone, which she agress to.
Kōno repeats the line "My Nipple Hurt...", and Nekotofu ponders it for a moment. He's still not satisfied and asks her to do it one more time. The sound directors are flabbergasted at this, but admit that they really don't care anymore. Nekotofu apologizes to them for the trouble, swearing that he doesn't have an ulterior motive.
Nekotofu reveals that his favorite scene from the Drama CD was the scene where Mihari attempts to wake up Mahiro by vacuuming her hair.
Ishihara holds up the completed Drama CD and notes that it contains enthusiastic performances by voice actors that the audience can enjoy. She says that it is now on sale at doujin bookstores and other places.
